Here is a list of events going on at the John Jermain Memorial Libary this summer. Come in and see what we have in the teen section. A lot has been added over the winter.Hope to see you soon!

What is “Get A Clue” ?
• It’s the theme for the 2007 Summer Reading Club
at the John Jermain Memorial Library
Why should I care?
• You get PRIZES for reading
• You can list books you are reading for school, too!
How much do I have to read to get a prize?
• Two chapter books at your reading level
• 2 Graphic Novels/ Manga books to equal 1 chapter book
• If you are reading something very large, such as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, we will count every and 200 pages as 1 chapter book
What are the prizes?
• We have a MANY TOYS, BOOKS, JEWELRY, POSTERS and COLLECTIBLES you can choose from
• Tattoo, magnet and book mark just for signing up
• Weekly raffles with lots of prizes
How many books do I need to read to finish the club?
• 10 Chapter Books (or equal)
What do I get if I finish?
• A certificate and an invitation to our
“end of the summer” party on August 24th
What kind of party?
• For ages 12 & up we are going to have a special performance:
Tales of the Unknown is a trip into the strange side of magic:
mind-reading, haunted artifacts, and strange stories.
We will also have Conca D’oro Pizza!
When does “Get A Clue” start?
• Beginning June 9th, you can sign up.
When does it end?
• By August 16th you must have signed in all your books.
Can my mom sign me in when she goes to the library?
• NO, you must be there too!

Discover the ancient origins of wands and wizards, boggarts and broomsticks, hippogriffs and herbology, unicorns and more. Participate in a real magical performance!!!

Decorate a Harry Potter Cake Thursday, July 19th 2:00 The Baking Coach returns to JJML for a very tasty celebration of the new book and movie. All ages. Please Register in advance
Native American Culture of Sag Harbor Saturday, Aug 4th 11:00 Hands on! Learn how to cook and make jewelry like the first residents of our town. All ages. Please Register in advance
Scooby-Doo Double Feature Friday, July 27th, at 6:00 (special time for young viewers). The first will be a cartoon movie for all ages. The second will be a live action feature for the older kids. Come in your pajamas and bring your blankie! On the Big Screen with stereo sound. All children must be accompanied by an adult. No Registration
Chemical Detectives Saturday, July 28th 11:00 The Long Island Science Center returns with another great mystery to solve! Perform scientific experiments on common household powders and one mystery powder. Use deductive reasoning and analytical thinking to figure out the identity of the unknown substance. Ages 8 & up. Please Register in Advance
Clue Game Tournament. Come and play the popular game where you figure out “who done it?”
Everyone gets a prize, but the winner gets the biggest! Snacks and drinks will be available. Ages 8 & up. Saturday, Aug 11th starting at 11:00. Please Register in advance.
